about
working with us
Pomona Floral Studio is a boutique florist in Sydney, specialising in weddings, events, installations and floral fashion.
In Roman mythology the Goddess Pomona is known for the protection of gardens and orchards, and the flourishing of fruit trees. At Pomona Floral Studio our creative flourishes move with the seasons to provide an exclusive and specialised service that’s in tune with the natural environment. From larger scale fashion shows and launches to small ornate weddings and corporate events, the studio respects the brief while enlarging the scope of your event and seeking to heighten its beauty.
Each project allows me to examine and contemplate the natural lines of the material. Through this contemplation, not only natural lines, but also the hues and textures of each petal, leaf and stem influence the gesture of the arrangement.

OUR FOUNDER
As a child I spent most of my time outside in gardens and forests, searching for fairies, scavenging for interesting seeds, and making up stories about them. It was my absolute happy place, being completely immersed in the natural environment.
I have been a florist for over seven years. When discussing project details, I have always encouraged individuals to engage with the natural world and treat its resources with respect. In 2023, I completed a certificate in Horticulture, in order to understand natural habitats and the growth of plants.
In 2019, I graduated from the Sydney Conservatorium of Music with a Bachelor of Music (Composition). It was through my musical studies that I gained further opportunities to interpret the natural environment. In 2018, I travelled to Prince William Sound in Alaska for an artist residency that promoted unifying nature and music. I spent a week field recording the natural sounds and understanding the environment with local guides.
a commitment to sustainability
Approaching floristry as a composer, I always try to give each flower as much value as a note from a piece of music.
Using a material that is commonly ephemeral and purely decorative brings many complexities to my practice. I try to remain loyal to the flower and treasure every petal beyond its material expectation.
When working on floral fashion projects, I use a mixture of fresh and dried flowers to add texture and diversity. I endeavour to minimise waste through bringing these flowers back to the studio to dry and re-sculpt for other projects. Since 2016, I have been collecting flowers from past projects and the studio is filled with various floral materials — fresh, preserved, pressed and dried flowers, just as a painter acquires shelves of pigments for their art.
At Pomona Floral Studio, flowers are predominantly sourced from local family run farms that share the same value of sustainability. Foliage is mainly sourced from my home garden. Since completing my horticulture course, I endeavour to increase my garden studio to include sustainably grown flowers.
